Actions

Actions are the moves available to players in a behavioral game. This includes what they are allowed to do as well as the when, where, and how of those moves. Importantly, actions are inclusive of decisions and choices. In some games, simply making decisions is enough to propel the game along. In others, more active play is required. Actions are typically additive (i.e., do more work), while decisions can be additive or negative (i.e., decide to start or stop eating junk food). Actions influence the tone and style of a behavioral game, so we must choose them carefully.
